Goodreads : Luis Fuentes has always been sheltered from the gang violence that nearly destroyed his brothers’ lives. But that didn’t stop him from taking risks—whether he’s scaling a mountain in the Rockies or dreaming of a future as an astronaut, Luis can’t stop looking for the next thrill.
Nikki Cruz lives her life by three rules—boys lie to get their way, don’t trust a boy who says “I love you,” and never date a boy from the south side of Fairfield. Her parents may be from Mexico, but as a doctor’s daughter, she has more in common with her north-side neighbors than the Latino Blood at her school. Then she meets Luis at Alex’s wedding, and suddenly, she’s tempted to break all her rules.
Getting Nikki to take a chance on a southsider is Luis’s biggest challenge, until he finds himself targeted by Chuy Soto, the new head of the Latino Blood. When Chuy reveals a disturbing secret about Luis’s family, the youngest Fuentes finds himself questioning everything he’s ever believed to be true. Will his feelings for Nikki be enough to stop Luis from entering a dark and violent world and permanently living on the edge?
My review : Well I was a little disappointed. I think I expected a lot more from this book. So here we are following the story of the younger brother in the family Luis. I'm going to explain why I didn't love it :
First the female character. I didn't like Nikki, she was getting on my nerves but she is also one of the point of view in Chain Reaction so it was a little problematic...
I also wasn't thrilled by their relationship. I felt nothing like the love between Britanny and Alex in Perfect Chemestry and especially between Kiara and Carlos. Rules fo Attractions is still my favorite book in this series !
And there wasn't a lot of actions in this book except in the end but there was too much actions in a few pages and the plot was really easy.
But it's not a bad book I meen it's Simone Elkeles so it's always good ! I was so excited to read another one of her books especially about one of the Fuentes brothers. I really liked seeing the lives and futures of all the previous characters and the epilogue was really sweet.
