Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Rating : 4,5 / 5

Goodreads Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…
Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.
Something worse than the Arum has come to town…
The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.
But then everything changes…
I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?
No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

My review : Reading one of Jennifer L. Armentrout's book is like eating my favorite candy ! I love her other YA series The Covenant but my favorite series is The Lux series. Obsidian was such a good first book and I had high expectations for this second book and guys... Sweet alien baby it was AWESOME !
The Lux series is my guilty pleasure and I just LOVE it. These books are addictive.
I wanted to read Onyx slowly but... I couldn't and I read it in a day because it was so good.
As usual I laughed, I swooned over Daemon... Every moments of the book between Katy and Daemon were amazing and hot !
There is a new character : Blake. But I didn't like him at all...
I like the fact that our heroine Katy is changing. She is now kick ass and she is training to be capable to defend herself and her friends. She's not just a "human" anymore.
But in this book Katy stays away from her friends and especially Dee. And she makes a lot of mistakes and lies to a lot of people and there will be consequences in the end...
But anyway I still love Kat and once again I loved the fact that she is a book blogger. I loved all the references about reviews, blog tour, IMM and ALA. It was awesome and it made me smile.
I also loved knowing more about her bond with Daemon and what it meant to have been healed by him (it reminded me of Alex and Seth's appolyon bond in The Covenant series).
As usual this book is action-packed with a lot of suspence and I loved following all the mystery around the DOD, the Arum and the mutated humans.
The only thing that was a little disappointing : Kate and Daemon's reactions were repetitive. He loves her but she don't believe it. And she loves him but she can't say it... Blablabla
The end was freaking amazing. And I think Opal is going to be really interesting. I can't wait to read it !!
And I just saw on Jennifer L. Armentrout's website that the last two books in the series are going to be dual POV (Daemon and Katy) i'm sooo excited ! I loved all the Daemon extras that the author wrote so I know that i'll be awesome.
