Storm by Brigid Kemmerer

Rating : 2 / 5

Goodreads : Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys - all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.
And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.
Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.
The storm is coming.

My review : I'm really disappointed. I thought that this book was going to be awesome and unique but it wasn't... It's everything that I loathe in YA right now. The characters are really cliché. The plot is not devoloped and everything is very predictable. There is nothing new...
And I didn't like the end... I wanted to yell : I've read the entire book... and it ends like that???
I also didn't like the characters. If you're an independent and feminist woman you're not going to like this book... The male characters in Storm are overprotective. And it was often too much. The love triangle between Chris, Hunter and Beccas was ridiculous. And this is really weird because this book reminded me of Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I loved that book. And the prequel novella of Storm and Obsidian are based on the same idea : the brother who lost his human girlfriend. So I didn't even read the prequel novella and I think i'm not going to read the second book for that matter...

  1. I'm currently reading this and til now I love it. But I'm kinda a independent and feminist woman, so I guess I'm in for a surprise ;). I'm curious what I'll think of it at the end!
