Waiting on wednesday

Between the lines by Jodi Picoult & Samantha Van Leer
Release date : June 26th 2012

Goodreads : What happens when happily ever after…isn’t?
Delilah is a bit of a loner who prefers spending her time in the school library with her head in a book—one book in particular. Between the Lines may be a fairy tale, but it feels real. Prince Oliver is brave, adventurous, and loving. He really speaks to Delilah.
And then one day Oliver actually speaks to her. Turns out, Oliver is more than a one-dimensional storybook prince. He’s a restless teen who feels trapped by his literary existence and hates that his entire life is predetermined. He’s sure there’s more for him out there in the real world, and Delilah might just be his key to freedom.
Delilah and Oliver work together to attempt to get Oliver out of his book, a challenging task that forces them to examine their perceptions of fate, the world, and their places in it. And as their attraction to each other grows along the way, a romance blossoms that is anything but a fairy tale.

I heard amazing things about Jodi Picoult books. I bought My sister's keeper a year ago and I hope I'll finally read it this year. This is one sounds really great. And I was also surprised when I learned that she wrote that book with her daughter. The story sounds so wonderful. Trying to get a character out of a book? I want to do that with so many characters to have them here in the reality ;).

  1. I am very excited for this one, too! I used to read a lot of Jodi Picoult's books and loved them! So glad to see her crossing over to YA!

  2. I've had a chance to read this one already and unfortunately, it wasn't for me. It actually read a lot more like MG than YA. I did like the concept though!

  3. Ohh, I actually have an ARC of this one on my shelf right now and I've heard the same things as you! I've never had the chance to read any of her adult books before, but I don't think her awesome factor will go down one bit with this new YA novel! ;)

Awesome pick for your WOW, Marie! I think it's so cool how she wrote this one with her daughter too -- it's really sweet! :)

  7. Hmmm ça a l'air super intéressant...

J'ai traduit une auteur dont on dit qu'elle rappelle beaucoup Jodi Picoult (mais côté adulte), j'ai pleuré comme un bébé en lisant deux de ses livres.
