Letterbox Love [1]

Letterbox Love is a weekly feature hosted by Lynsey on Narratively Speaking. The idea apparently came out of a group discussion on twitter.
It's a new meme for the UK bookbloggers where we share the books that we've received, bought, borrowed ect.. every week.

Since it's my first post I wanted to explain a little why I choose to do this meme now. I wanted to stop doing In My Mailbox after this whole drama around the Story Siren. Everyone probably heard about it unless you're living under a rock. Kristi from the blog The Story Siren was accused of plagiarism. After reading everything about this "affair" I decided to stop In My Mailbox and unfollow The Story Siren. But of course it's a personal choice.
I saw last week that several memes were created as an alternative to In My Mailbox. At first I wanted to do Stacking the shelves created by Tynga at Tynga's review but then I decided to do Letterbox Love instead. I live much closer to the UK (since I live in France) than the US and i'm going to live in England next september for a year so I thought it would be great to start this meme focusing on UK bookbloggers !

It's been so long since I show you my last book haul. I decided to take a little break in April because it was a busy month for me and I had a lot of exams since it was my last month of university. But now i'm back and i'm going to show you the book that I received these past 3 weeks. I'm not going to show you the book that I received this week because I wasn't able to take a picture today and there was too much pictures on this post already but I'll take pictures later and put them in my next Letterbox Love post.

First I received 6 french books :
Le Comte de Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas : I love Alexandre Dumas books and especially The three musketeers and it's a shame that I've never read this one so i'm happy that I bought it.
A travel guide book about Great Britain : Because i'm going to live and study there next september for a year so I wanted to know more about the country.
Le destin d'une reine by Stephane Bern : A book about the Queen of England. I wanted to know more about her since her diamond jubilee is taking place this year.
Marie-Antoinette by Stefan Sweig : I'm so happy that I found this one. It's supposed to be the best biography of Marie-Antoinette and I love this author.
Les 10 enfants que Mme Ming n'a jamais eus by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt : I've already read it and loved it. Schmitt is one of my favorite french author. I got this book signed because there was a book signing and a lecture with the author at my local bookshop.
La part de l'autre by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt : Can't wait to read this one I heard amazing things about it. It's from the same author.

Then I bought 3 books in english and 1 in spanish :
El juego del angel by Carlos Ruiz Zafon : I read another book by this author (L'ombre du ventre sorry I don't know the english title) but in french and I wanted to try one of his book in spanish. I've been doing spanish during 5 years in school but I stopped 2 years ago and now i'm missing this language. I live near Spain (45 minutes away by car from where I live) and i'm often going to Spain in the summer so I hope that my spanish will be better with this book.
Forsaken by Jana Oliver : It's a gift from my friend Mathilde so thanks again.
A breath of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont : Jane Eyre is one of my favorite book so I can't wait to read this one.
Half Blood by Jennifer L Armentrout : I bought this one because my friend Elodie from OnceUponAQuote book blog she loved it. The review is already on my blog and goodreads.

And then I received some swags :
Jessica Spotswood the author of Born Wicked send me some swags. Thanks again it's so nice. Born Wicked is a 2012 debut novel and I loved it. It was my favorite book of February. I'm maybe going to do a little giveaway on my blog to share some of these.

And my godfather went to Cuba in March and bought me two bookmarks. The first one is about Che Guevara and on the second one Fidel Castro and Hemingway.
