My review : City of Lost Souls is the fifth book in The Mortal Instruments series. I'm huge fan of this series and I was reading the books even before starting my blog.
As i've already said in my review of the fourth book City of Fallens Angels, I loved the 3 first books in the series and I thought that the third was the last.When it was announced about the new three books I was a little wary because for me, the ending of City of Glass was perfect. I liked the loose ends, I liked not definitely knowing where the characters would go and what they would do. But I'm so glad i'm still following TMI. I liked City of Fallens Angels less than the first three books and gave it 4 stars. But this fifth book won me all over again and I loved it.
With this one I feel like I've been reunited with friends. Jace, Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Magnus, Alec, Maia, Jordan... they are all characters that i'm deeply attached to. I'm so glad to have this characters back.
What I love about this series are all the different point of views in each chapter. I have the impression that i'm following an awesome tv show and that I'm close to every character.
Sebastian is such a complex character... And Cassandra Clare managed in this book to make me love him and hate him at the same time.
Oh and I loved when they were in Paris & Venise <3.
I just don't know how I can wait to read the last book in the series... I don't want TMI to be over but the release date is so far way... September 2014? Really?
Anyway... I also wanted to say that this cover is perfect. Often the YA covers featuring characters don't look like the characters that I have in my head but here it's really Jace and Clary.
