Tempestuous by Lesley Livingston

Rating : 4 / 5

Goodreads : "I don't love Sonny Flannery."
That's the lie Kelley Winslow told to protect the boy she loves from a power he doesn't know he possesses. Devastated, Sonny retreats—to a haven for Lost Fae that's hidden deep underneath New York City.
But Kelley's not about to let things end in heartbreak. To get Sonny back, she's got to find out who's after his magick—and how to use her own. She's got to uncover who's recruiting Janus Guards to murderously hunt innocent Faerie. She's got to help rebuild the shattered theater company she called family. And she's got to do it all without getting dangerously distracted by the Fennrys Wolf, whose legendary heart of stone seems to melt whenever he's around Kelley.

My review : I really liked Tempestuous, the third and last book in Lesley Livingston series. I didn't give it 5 stars because it was difficut for me to get into the story at the beginning. Kelsey was getting on my nerves after this "I don't love Sonny Flannery" thing and all the kestrel thing was really weird too. Sonny was just hum... useless and the chapters from his POV at first were annoying. But fortunately after a few chapters there is more actions and I read the rest of the book pretty quickly. There is always a lot of actions in Lesley Livingston books and I like that !
I still love Fennrys character even more than Sonnys. It's such a great character ! I don't know why I don't love Sonny that much but I like his relationship with Kelley though. Anyway don't worry Fennrys if it were me I'll pick you ;). I would have enjoyed to see more of him even if I think it's logic that Kelley will still love Sonny and that a triangle love is this series is pretty doomed.
The background idea of all the books is pure genius. Kelley is an actress and in every book she is playing a play written by Shakespeare : Titania, Juliet, Ariel... and those characters are all linked with what's going on in every book.
It was awesome to finally know who is behind all this chaos and why. I was surprised by certain things, I didn't see certain things coming from particular characters but I've guessed others before reading Tempestuous. That was really well thought. Well done Lesley Livingston !
The end about Fennrys is just wow it couldn't be better than that.
And the whole end is not the kind of end I usually like but it was great here !

  4. Thanks for reviewing this! I love this series, but I haven't read this one yet! Will have to get to it soon. I felt a little like that (the slow beginning) with the second book, but I still really enjoyed it as a whole!
