Darklight by Lesley Livingston

Rating : 5 / 5

Goodreads : Much has changed since autumn, when Kelley Winslow learned she was a Faerie princess, fell in love with changeling guard Sonny Flannery, and saved the mortal realm from the ravages of the Wild Hunt.

Now Kelley is stuck in New York City, rehearsing Romeo and Juliet and missing Sonny more with every stage kiss, while Sonny has been forced back to the Otherworld and into a deadly game of cat and mouse with the remaining Hunters and Queen Mabh herself.
When a terrifying encounter sends Kelley tumbling into the Otherworld, her reunion with Sonny is joyful but destined to be cut short. An ancient, hidden magick is stirring, and a dangerous new enemy is willing to risk everything to claim that power.
Caught in a web of Faerie deception and shifting allegiances, Kelley and Sonny must tread carefully, for each next step could topple a kingdom . . . or tear them apart.

My review : I loved Darklight the second book even more that Wondrous Strange ! This book was a perfect continuation of WS. It picked up slightly after the first one ended, and immediately threw you into action.
We really discover the Otherworld in this one because Kelley is in it for the first time and Sonny is there for most of the story too. I loved learning more about the Faerie Courts and meet the other Faerie King and Queen that we haven't seen in the first book.
There is also a lot more of actions and humour in this one.
Some characters are re-introduced  : I sart to have a crush on Fennrys the blond Vicking prince guy :p! I really liked him in Darklight, we know a lot more about him and I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next book with him ! And you know what ? I can totally see Kelsey with Fennrys even if I know that she belongs with Sonny...
I also loved Kelsey the heroine even more in Darklight than in Wondrous Strange. She has changed a lot. She is more confident and strong.
I liked this idea about The Greeman but I was not really convinced by what Sonny had become. Anyway I'll see in the other book !
I was a little disappointed because in Darklight there is not as much references about the theater as in Wondrous Strange (in Darklight Kelsey plays Juliet).
But I enjoyed Darklight a lot ! The end is heartbreaking but I loved it and I can't wait to read Tempestuous the next one !

  4. Uhm, reading "she belongs to Sonny" I feel like she's his thing and not his girlfriend...

  6. En fait, ce qui me fait bizarre c'est la préposition choisie, tu as "belong with" qui aurait moins fait appartenance, tu vois ? Enfin peu importe ^^

J'espère que Iron Witch te plaira =)

  10. At least the continuity of the girl on the cover is there. I hate it when they change the personna case in point the Vampire Academy covers. I was so dismayed that the covers had no continuity especially seeing as it was suppose to depict our heroine.

I definitely have to find this series next.
